Cognizant Junction Header Images

A short series of header images for my friend's website/blog, which would also serve as his branding. He didn't have much in the way of direction or ideas, so I had free reign to create whatever I wanted for him. Starting off with the visual idea of cogs as a metaphor for business interaction seemed like the most logical beginning, and I went from there.
In addition to exploring how the cog could be used visually, recalling the shape of the capital C, for example, I tried to come up with some other visual representations of synergy (boy oh boy, those buzzwords!) and cooperation in the working world (hands joining, or handshakes). Eventually my ideas adapted bits of traffic sign iconography, tying the idea of travel and traffic with commerce, cooperation and business.
I also began experimenting with some ideas playing with the intersectionality aspect of cooperation, resulting in these images playing with the "junction" idea.
